Tasting Notes

I have so many stories I have been a part of over the years. There’s a chance I will be that person having wine with friends in 20 years, recounting all of these stories. I have a feeling it will be difficult to shut me up because these stories are near and dear to my heart. One of those stories is Kenny from Arabalis (@arabiliswines) reaching out to me in 2021 when I did my Oregon Sparkling Report (I need to do something like this again). He let me know his Sparkling was in the works and would be ready in 3 years. Over the next three years, I got to know more about Kenny. I had him on the podcast twice! The first time, his wife Allison was unable to attend. Also, over the last three years, he has released some amazing still wine, bought a Sparkling bottling line, recently moved into a new winery, and earlier this year, Allison gave birth to a wonderful winemaker in the making! Kenny has also been given the nickname of Dr. Bubbles by Travis Todd at de la boue (@delaboue_wines). I mean, Kenny does have a PhD in Sparkling. Oh, the stories I could ramble on and on about, but let’s talk about this wine! The 2020 Willamette Valley Extra Brut Sparkling Wine is 33% Pinot Noir and 67% Chardonnay. Let me simply say it is delicious and well worth the three-year wait! I don’t detect much Pinot in the blend, with a bright vibrancy on the mid-palate. If Kenny’s Pinot Chard blend is this good, I cannot wait for his Blanc de Blancs. Please tell me, Kenny, there is a BdB on the way!!!! 👇 👇 👇 👇 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 Would you like to get a Saturday morning email once a month to read with your coffee giving you insider tips on events, news, and an in-depth perspective on a winery?
