Tasting Notes

It’s a gorgeous day outside, so I am on the back deck editing the podcast episode with Thomas, the winemaker at Lingua Franca (@linguafrancawines), dropping on Thursday. I first met Thomas, @tomsavre, at a Champagne Night @decanterberrytales hosted in January 2020. What an incredible night filled with exceptional Champagne and Sparkling! Over the last four years, I have enjoyed following Thomas’s path. His stellar winemaking prowess has made itself known with a focus on Chardonnay. When I grabbed this bottle, I wasn’t paying attention. In my head, I thought it was a Chardonnay, and I thought this would be a tremendous blind wine to open for the interview. When I popped the cork and saw it was a Pinot, I debated grabbing another bottle, but I didn’t have enough time to figure out what to open. Even though Thomas was slightly disappointed, the 2010 Evening Land (@elvwines) Chambolle Musigny Pinot Noir showed wonderfully. Are you curious about what Thomas thought of this wine? Be sure to subscribe before Thursday to YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts. 👇 👇 👇 👇 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 Would you like to get a Saturday morning email once a month to read with your coffee giving you insider tips on events, news, and an in-depth perspective on a winery?
