Tasting Notes

I am such a sucker when the sun comes out. I know it was still chilly out, but feeling the sun's warmth feels incredibly wonderful. Spring is almost here, isn't it? We are starting to see 2022 Pinots pop up here and there. A few little rumbles say it is a big year (when I say big, I mean the wine itself is big). 2018 was also a big year. It's been a while since I opened an Elevee (@eleveewines), so let's see what a 2018 is currently looking like. The 2018 Elevee Vineyard Pinot Noir, for me, is showing beautifully. It might be considered a little big, but everything Tom does to his wines shows finesse and elegance, directly correlating the terror his wines come from. On the nose and entry, there are great tones of brighter red fruit showing off; on the mid-palate, those fruits continue to shine, and you would think this is where you get the bigness of an 18, but everything here (the tannins and acidity) are integrated into an excellent snug package. All of the fruit holds intact for a nice extended finish. The amount of Elevee I have left is starting to dwindle. It's time to start hiding some!
