Yesterday, I spent the afternoon putting up Christmas lights. I know it’s before Thanksgiving, and I am right there with you if you think it is too early. My thoughts: we are in Oregon, it is not raining, and I need to take advantage of the weather. It is difficult for me to get my head around the fact we are already in the “Christmas Season.” Where has this year gone?
It is Thanksgiving week, though. I enjoy this week when the schedule is less hectic while everyone gathers for incredible food and wine. As I put up the lights yesterday, I reflected on years past when the neighborhood kids helped my daughter, and me put up the outdoor decorations. The schedule is more hectic this year. I was the only person putting up the lights. It is a little sad on one side of the fence, but on the other, it is exciting. Seeing everyone grow up blazing their paths on the road of life is spectacular!!
Plenty of Sparkling will get opened this week, and why not start it off with a bottle from Micheal Lundeen, who has blazed quite a path of his own in life? Micheal’s story, his heritage, and the legacy he leaves for the next generation are unique. He does so much for his family and the community. If you still need to check out his tasting room in McMinnville, this weekend is perfect. I obviously enjoy his Sparkling, but everything else he makes is quite impressive. Check ‘em out when you get the chance! 👇
