One of the many aspects I enjoy about doing the podcast in person is bringing a blind wine to ponder throughout the interview. I always try to find a wine that has some relation to the person I am interviewing. Sometimes, it is easy to find a wine. Other times, not so much. When I interviewed Erich Berg, winemaker of Ricochet Wines, I brought a bottle of Point-of-Contact Pinot Gris from Approachment Wines. You might be wondering what relation this bottle of wine has to Erich. Jess and Paden from Approachment were part of Erich’s Indie Wine Maker event in May. Erich also makes wine at Harper Voit, where Jess is the winemaker. Side story. When I walked in to meet Erich for the podcast, Jess sat in a huge, comfy camping chair.
