Tasting Notes

From the Eola-Amity Hills AVA and with an ABV of 12.93%, I appreciate Tom's attention to detail when it comes to his craft. Is it necessary to have two decimal places? Probably not, but it demonstrates Tom's commitment to precision in everything he does. The 2022 Pray Tell Willamette Valley Dolcetto has a lovely deep red color with a slight translucency when poured into a glass. The aroma is absolutely delightful! I could smell it for days! The initial taste is incredibly light and elegant, followed by a burst of vibrant fruit mid-palate. The tannin structure is excellent, not overpowering at all, and the finish reminds me of the lyrics from Jack Johnson's song, "If I had eyes." Particularly the part that goes, "If I had eyes in the back of my head, I would have told you that you looked good as I walked away." It takes a few seconds for the finish to captivate your attention, just like the time it takes to pass by someone. This wine is truly fantastic and delicious! Furthermore, the label of this wine draws inspiration from a deck of old Italian playing cards that Tom and his grandmother used to play Scopa with.
