Tasting Notes
OK, not only is this wine a Thanksgiving wine, but it is also the blind wine I poured for Drew Voit for the podcast coming out on Thursday. Let me tell you the story behind this wine.
I tried this wine in the summer of 2022, and I knew instantly that it was the perfect choice for Drew’s blind tasting. Why? Well, the 2022 Mystere Pinot Noir from Walnut Ridge is an incredible wine, and it’s super unique. The reason it is unique is because the clone is a UCD10. Yup, UCD10! What in the heck is UCD10? Not many people know, and this is the reason when Drew Voit had to see what would be the possibilities in the glass.
Guess what? Drew is also making this wine now for Walnut Ridge. And get this - Aaron and Alisha, the owners of Walnut Ridge, were members of Harper Voit before they bought Walnut Ridge. Their daughter’s name is Harper, and they became members after finding a bottle of Harper Voit at the beach. Isn’t that a full-circle story? I love those!
