Tasting Notes

Welcome to the 13th National Chardonnay Day and a kick-off to the Memorial Day Weekend! Did you know in 2009, the wine industry was struggling due to the global economy recovering from a bank crisis. So in efforts to boost sales, fix the wine industry slump, and kick off the Memorial Day holiday weekend, Rick Bakas suggested a day dedicated to the brilliant wine, Chardonnay. I have been on a Chardonnay kick lately and tonight decided to pop the cork on a 2018 Lionne from Arlyn showing appreciation for the day. I am sure you have noticed my lack of tasting notes lately, and all I have are excuses. I haven’t taken the time to sit down and think about the wine for 15+ minutes. Here is what I will say about the Lionne. It is a super elegant Chardonnay to appease all of the senses, but I enjoy the finesse it presents on the mid-palate. It’s not overly oaked, yet there is a smooth complexity where the finish lingers in the most subtle manners. . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter.
