Tasting Notes
Please tell me you got outside yesterday and enjoyed the incredible weather! Oh my goodness, I opened the windows, and the screen door was open until I went to bed. Several times yesterday, I walked out onto the deck to smell the clematis in full bloom. Spring is here!
I was in the mood for an Audeant Seven Springs Chard last night. When I first tasted the 2018 Chard, I fell in love. When I first tasted the 2019 last July, I was surprised how it didn’t taste anything like the 18. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the difference between the two vintages. Come to find out, the 19 had just been bottled, which gave me data points. I tasted the 19 Chard again in October, and my love affair was back on. It’s so hard not to open every single bottle I have of this and be whisked away to Neverland.
To describe the 18 and 19 Audeant Chard, only one word is needed, and I stand by it every time. Feral. There is a stunning wildness that touches every sense, and I love it!
