Tasting Notes
In the car today, I shocked myself with the realization tomorrow is Thursday already. Is it just me, or are the weeks of 2022 flying by faster than Marty McFly traveling back in time?
Overall the 2016 Nicolas Jay Willamette Valley Pinot Noir makes me feel alive, starting with lovely bright redness in the glass. The nose gives off hints of forest floor funk intermingled with slight traces of bright red fruit. On entry, I notice a nuanced increase in my heartbeat. Wafts of funk layered with smooth tannins traverse the mid-palate giving way to a temperate finish. All through the experience, I realized I was controlling my breath. Taking an ample breath, the forest funk came back to cajole me for another liking.
