I read an email saying it is National Syrah Day. How did I miss this? I looked through my bottles, and the Syrah I have are bottles I want to hold onto longer. So, what did I do? I opened a bottle from Andrew Rich. Some of the bottles of Syrah I have are from Andrew Rich from the 2009 vintage. I am not ready to open these bottles at all. I have only had Andrew Rich’s Syrah, and opening a Pinot bottle from the Ridgecrest Vineyard on Ribbon Ridge sounded like a great alternative. The 2018 Andrew Rich Ridgecrest Pinot immediately caught my attention on entry with funky pleasantness causing my toes to curl.
