Happy New Year!!
Post 2 of 2
When I started the top ten list, it was impossible to choose only ten wines. Putting those in some sort of order saying one was better than the other, geez. Even if I were to use a point system, it would still be difficult. So now, here am I am with the top two wines of 2021, and I am supposed to choose a “winner.” No, thank you! The number two and number one spots are a tie.
2021 was a deep dive into Oregon Sparkling, and what a fascinating deep dive it was. So, it should come as no surprise my top two wines are Sparkling. Corollary and Lytle Barnett produce only Bubbles. Their focus and vision are to bring awareness to Oregon as a world-class Sparkling wine region. Oregon is already known for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay is catching up, and I guarantee Oregon will start getting recognition for killer Bubbles in the next 8-10 years.

2017 Corollary Momtazi Brut Rose
Over the summer, I was grilling some beef kabobs on the grill and was thoroughly enjoying the 2017 Momtazi Brut Rose. I took a bite of kabob, followed with a sip of Bubbles, and I lost all motor functions. The way the acidity cut through the beef. The pairing blew me away. I wasn’t expecting it at all, but oh me, oh my.
