Tasting Notes
It’s cold, rainy, and nasty outside today. Thank goodness the countdown to Spring is happening, and in a couple of weeks, there will be sun in my future!
Can I share a new label Piper Underbrink from Prive is launching?
Before I get too deep into the weeds, I also have to mention a couple of other things.
If you have not met Piper, you need to. She is so excited about the work she is doing, and it’s been beyond spectacular to watch what she has done in the last couple of years. I can’t wait to see what other magical rabbits she pulls from her hat.
The other thing I wanted to mention was Piper’s mom, Melanie Rosales, was recently nominated for the Iowa Rock n’ Roll Music Hall of Fame!
Ok, let’s talk wine already! The 2021 Sea Lionne Pinot Noir is the inaugural release for Piper’s new label, with fruit coming from the newly purchased vineyard in Ribbon Ridge. On the mid-palate, it’s bright red fruit (much needed from the dark clouds hanging overhead today), and there is a calming effect about the finish. I feel like I should be at the beach watching the tide crash into rocks. Hmm, something to think about…..
When you get a moment, contact Piper at @privevineyard and set up a tasting!
