Tasting Notes

I've developed a growing appreciation for a blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay called Passetoutgrain from the Bourgogne Passetoutgrain AOC in Burgundy. What I find most enjoyable about this wine is the seamless integration of the two grape varieties. While we all love Pinot Noir on its own, it's fascinating to see how it interacts when blended. During my interview with Tom from Pray Tell Wines (@praytellwines), he poured me a glass of this wine and I was immediately intrigued by the clever label design. When you line up multiple bottles side by side, it creates the illusion of a string of lights. The 2021 Pray Tell Willamette Valley Red Blend consists of 60% Gamay Noir and 40% Pinot Noir. What I particularly appreciate and admire about this wine is the harmonious combination of the two grapes. Sometimes Gamay can be very fruity and overpowering, but the presence of 40% Pinot Noir brings balance and adds a soft, beautiful, and approachable quality to the overall experience. Priced at $30, this wine is definitely worth considering for those special weekend occasions. 👇 👇 👇 👇 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 Would you like to get a Saturday morning email once a month to read with your coffee giving you insider tips on events, news, and an in-depth perspective on a winery?
