Tasting Notes

Day 2 of Oregon Sparkling! Today takes us to Eola and the infamous Brooks Winery. Typically, Sparkling comes from Pinot Noir or Chardonnay, but Brooks likes to create its own mold! 🥂 Fact En Tirage is a term used when the wine is fermenting in the bottle with yeast. Each Sparkling comes from a base wine, where it goes through its first fermentation. Afterward, it is taken from the barrel, tank, or whatever vessel was used into the bottle with a handcrafted yeast to age for at least a year. Sometimes, En Tirage can last for five-plus years. 🥂 Winery Brooks is downright amazing on every single level. The story of Brooks is outstanding! Add in the wine, the food, the atmosphere, and oh my goodness, the view on a clear day will take your breath away! Brooks was also named one of the top 100 wineries in the world for 2021. The Sparkling Muscat was disgorged yesterday!! 🥂 Wine 2016 Sparking Riesling 100% Riesling spent 44 months En Tirage . . . . 🥂 Want to know more The 2021 Oregon Sparkling Report is 47 pages filled with information on 29 producers and 37 labels and my top ten list.
