Tasting Notes

This morning during my walk with Globgor, I noticed flower bulbs starting to pop up through the soil. I also saw a field full of birds, including robins. Do you know what this means? Spring is getting closer and closer! I seriously cannot wait! Before we get into the wine, I have to call out the Cortell-Rose Vineyard this wine comes from. Jessica Cortell is a masterful wizard in the vineyard and to have wines from her vineyard is an extra special treat tonight! We are also starting to see 2021 wines emerge. If you remember, 2021 was the year we had record-breaking 115-degree temperatures in July for three days, aka the “Heat Dome” year. The previous record was 106 in 2003. Yet, despite all the heat, the 2021 vintage is looking pretty darn good so far! The 2021 Marie Paule Reserve Cortell-Vineyard Pinot Noir from Sunbreak Wines is showing off a gorgeous bright red color in the glass with a pleasant sensual entry full of those more colorful red fruits, think raspberry and strawberry. The mid-palate continues a smooth, sensual journey where the tannin structure is next to impossible to detect. The finish is a mouth-watering sensation begging for a wood-fired pizza. 👇 👇 👇 👇 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 Would you like to get a Saturday morning email to read with your coffee giving you insider tips on events, news, and an in-depth perspective on a winery?
