If you are subscribed to the Podcast via Apple Podcast, Spotify, or YouTube, you are aware a new episode dropped this morning! I am here to help in case you still need to subscribe. Today's episode is with veteran winemaker David Paige of David Paige Wines. He was the winemaker at Adelsheim for 17 vintages and recently started his label. Since I heard the announcement I wanted to visit, I need more time for every winery I want to dive into. My time with David was exceptional, and he has so many stories. Over the years, he has worked with some fantastic up-and-coming winemakers, including Tracy, Aaron Kendall (Nicolas Jay and Compris), and Matt Perry of 00 Wines. Gina Hennen, the current head winemaker at Adelsheim, shared a pot of tea with David every morning for many years while the two were at Adelsheim. All of the links for the episode are in my Bio. Let's talk about this 2021 David Paige Wines Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir. First off, it's Eola-Amity fruit. I already know this is going to be fan-flippin-tastic! The first little sniffy sniff intoxicates me with all of those dark red fruits I lust for. On entry, I experience that silky-smooth transition to the mid-palate, allowing the fruit to open up on the mid-palate fully. The tannin structure is beautifully integrated, showing age-worthiness but nowhere near overpowering. The finish is wonderfully subtle and shouldn't go unnoticed. 👇 👇 👇 👇 🍷 🗓 🍷 🗓 🍷 🗓 🍷 🗓 🍷 🗓 Trying to keep up with the events happening in Wine Country can be a full-time job.
