Happy New Years Eve
A top ten list would not be complete without a post from Audeant. January 2020 was my first introduction to Audeant, and I have been a fanboy ever since. Andrew, the winemaker, is approachable, kind, and goes out of his way to make you feel at home. Teal and her husband Dan have a fantastic story of meeting Andrew and launching Audeant. Recently, Erin Brooks, the wine reviewer for Robert Parker, called the 2019 Luminous Hills Pinot Noir an under-the-radar wine. I had the 2019 Nysa over the summer, and it was stellar. I can’t wait to try the 2019 Luminous Hills!!
🍷 Wine :
2019 Audeant Seven Springs Chardonnay
Last year I might have been infatuated with the 2018 Seven Springs Chardonnay from Audeant, just the teeniest bit. Having a wild and feral Chard on the palate is absolute bliss for me. In July, I was super fortunate to taste the 2019 Seven Springs Chardonnay and then again in October. The difference between July and October was night and day. Yesterday I opened the 2019 because I didn’t have a picture for today’s post.
In July, this was good. In October, my heart fluttered, and now in December, I am yet again infatuated. The level of wildness in the 2018 was an 8 or 9 on a scale of 10, which I loved! The level of wildness in the 2019 isn't as ferocious, coming in at 6. But, there is always a but. The wildness is accompanied by a brightness you would expect from the 2019 vintage. The unique qualities 2019 brings to the table combined with a wild streak will have me repeatedly returning to this bottle!
