It’s time to talk Oregon Sparkling!
Over the next several weeks, I am providing a glimpse into my journey over the summer with Oregon Sparkling, along with one tidbit to consider when thinking about Sparkling in general.
🥂 Fact
We can’t call Oregon Sparkling Champagne because there are weird little rules in the wine world we have to abide by. Champagne is a region in France, and all of the Sparkling that comes from that region is Champagne. It’s kind of like people saying, “I need to Google something,” even though sometimes they are not using Google.
🥂 Winery
You can’t talk Sparkling without bringing up Argyle. Rolling Soles in 1987 had the vision to take advantage of Oregon’s ideal cool climate to produce outstanding Sparkling! Today Argyle is also known for its Pinot, Chardonnay, and Riesling. Their tasting room is conveniently located right off of Highway 99 in Dundee.
🥂 Wine
2015 Spirit Hill Vineyard Blanc de Blanc
100% Chardonnay and aged on the lees for five years.
