Tasting Notes

Not going to lie, it’s hot out! It makes me wonder how the grapes are doing at that point in the season, with veraison happening in many places throughout the Valley. I will cool down a little tonight with a 2020 Granville Chardonnay from the Koosah Vineyard. If you are not aware, this is quite an exceptional vineyard. Resonance purchased the vineyard early last year, adding to their estate portfolio. Walter Scott and Martin Woods also have some fruit from Koosah. These Chardonnays are great, but tonight I am focusing only on Granville. Saying this wine is anything other than beautiful and elegant would be shameful. I made a tiny mistake by over-chilling this wine and not allowing the fruit to express itself adequately. Once the wine was almost at room temperature, my toes curled like Bruce Willis in the original Die Hard after taking off his shoes from the long flight. The mouthfeel and finish keep you aching for more Die Hard sequels! It is a shame I only had one bottle of this. I think it’s time for another visit very soon! 👇 👇 👇 👇 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 Would you like to get a Saturday morning email once a month to read with your coffee giving you insider tips on events, news, and an in-depth perspective on a winery?
