Tasting Notes
Sometimes it feels like the days blur together, and when I look back over this year, it feels like one big blur. It doesn’t feel like it's mid-May already. I am have been wondering what does this mean? Am I too busy and not stopping to smell the roses enough? Am I experiencing life like it is meant to be experienced? Maybe it’s a combination of both. Perhaps I am overthinking it like I do everything. Maybe I should sit back, soak in as much as possible, and enjoy tonight’s wine!
Tonight’s wine is the 2020 Aubaine Anahata Vineyeard Chardonnay
A light golden hue awaits in the glass for its depths to be explored. I appreciate there is only 10% new oak on this bottle, allowing the wine to speak for itself on the nose with a classic Chardonnay foundation lined with a lovely racy spice tone. This wine enters your palate with a gentle persuasion of minerality intermingled with a killer acidity, letting you know this wine is in it for the long run! Speaking of going the distance, the long, lingering finish on this one is something to treasure, and with an ABV of 12.8%, indulging in a little extra isn’t the end of the world.
