Tasting Notes
Today I had to pour another Chardonnay to match the crisp blue skies and the wonderful breeze going through the backyard as I sit on the back deck getting stuff done.
The winemaker for the 2020 Aubaine Anahata Vineyard Chardonnay is Isabelle Meunier. I haven’t had the opportunity to speak with her for an extended period, but the couple of times we chatted, all of my preconceived notions were checked off. She is kind, humble, and prefers to stay out of the spotlight. She is a master of Chardonnay. I will never forget during a podcast interview with another winemaker, saying, “I learned from Isabelle Chardonnay is a marathon and not a sprint.”
Enjoying this glass today is spectacular! It’s light, refreshing, and goes down way too easily! On the mid-palate, you are greeted with killer acidity and great minerality! I am going to get an ice bucket and code for a bit now. Cheers to a beautiful Sunday!
