Tasting Notes

Did you know it’s National Cab Franc Day? I have one bottle saved of Cab Franc in my collection I don’t want to touch for a while. In between conference calls, I decided to make a quick trip to New Seasons to celebrate the day properly. I ended up a 2016 lobo hills Cab Franc from Lonesome Springs Ranch in the Yakima Valley of Washington. I crave to know more about the wines coming out of Washington next year. I have to say I am enjoying this bottle as I put the finishing touches on the newsletter for tomorrow morning. I get dark red fruit on the nose, with an entry slipping in under the radar with tannins barely noticeable on the mid-palate and finish. For Pinot, I would say a nice silky finish, but this is slightly heavier than silk. What is slightly heavier than silk? I can’t think of anything at this minute…. . . . . . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter. Link in the Bio! 🍷
