Tasting Notes

Tonight for dinner was a beef ragu with pappardelle noodles. The recipe called for diced tomatoes, but I had to add in a little spice to liven things up a bit. So good!! I paired it a 2014 00 VGW which was fabulous! Here are my notes on the VGR: Looking in the glass, you get a nice, very light red Pinot. I mention this only because the wine slips away into the air if you don't pay close attention. The tannins are light as a feather, and whatever you do, don't engage in conversation while savoring a sip because the earthiness will be gone in an instant mid-palate. Approaching the finish, the secondary notes escape under the radar. Still, with keen observation, you grab a wonderful spice that slowly flourishes to bring full circle a satisfaction you have been craving all day. . . . . . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter.
