Tasting Notes
It’s been one heck of a Thanksgiving weekend in Wine Country! I’ve had some incredible conversations, met people with extraordinary stories, and learned they not only moved to Oregon but put their heart and soul into what we enjoy in our glasses. I still can’t get my head around how fortunate I am to explore a top-tier wine region of the world!
One of my visits this weekend was Authentique Wine on Friday. Outside of the killer wines I had during the tasting, I was fortunate to go home with a bottle of the 2019 Murto Vineyard Pinot Noir in the Dundee Hills. When I tasted this on Friday, my shorts notes were, “Classic Dundee Hills with gorgeous forest floor funk and stunning from entry to finish.” My notes tonight, “classic strong dark fruits on the nose, forest floor twinge on the mid-palate, integrated tannins giving way to a strong finish.”
With a 2019 showing this strong after three days, it only tells me this wine will age like something fierce. What day 4 or 5 will bring? Thank you Nicholas for some stunning wines!
