Tasting Notes

There is a saying in Oregon that summer doesn’t start until the 5th of July. Earlier this week, the 5th wasn’t aware of its responsibility and decided to rain. Today is the first morning this week where the weather figured out, “Hey, I think it’s summer.” It’s been a “classic” Oregon summer this year, and I am not sure how I feel about it yet. Regardless of my feelings, I am soaking up as much as possible! I hope you are doing the same. Last July, I tried the 2019 Dupee Pinot Noir from Elizabeth Chambers, and I instantly fell in love! I bought two bottles and refused to open them until last night. I also remember a conversation with Drew Voit late last summer where we talked about Elizabeth Chambers, where he is the winemaker. I told him of my reaction to the wine, and I couldn’t remember the name at that precise second. He got a big grin and said, “It was the Dupee, wasn’t it?” My only response was, “YES!!” I need to make plans to visit Eugene and check out Elizabeth’s Chamber's new location and wine lounge. If you have already visited, let me know what you think of the new place. . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter. Link in the Bio! 🍷
