Tasting Notes

I wasn’t expecting great weather today, but as I am editing a podcast on the back porch, the rain will force me inside. I refuse to wear anything other than shorts and flip-flops, with it being June. It is summer! Tonight’s wine is the 2019 Cuvee Anne Chardonnay from Walter Scott. The wines Walter Scott produces are exceptional, and when you look at the price point for this bottle, wowsers! When I bought this about a year ago, I think it was around $30. A patootski kicking Oregon Chardonnay with a finish that lingers longer than a Six Flags roller coaster is saying something! In all seriousness, there is some serious structure to this wine. Looking at a Chardonnay, I immediately look at the acidity level, which beautifully shows excellent aging potential. There is some detectable oak, but not the buttery oak we don’t like. For the finish, you need to pay extra close attention. It lingers for quite some time! . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter. Link in the Bio! 🍷
