Tasting Notes

I have been experimenting with “Smash Burgers,” and tonight’s experiment added some mushrooms along with a little of “The Last Dab” to the patty while it was cooking. The steam with the hot sauce from the burger got to me, but the result was this mashup up a soft bun, grilled mushrooms, cheese melted perfectly, and enough kick to make me sweat without overpowering the other flavors. Definitely, a recipe to keep in my back pocket. The wine tonight is the 2018 Sophia’s Block from Cramoisi. I remember feeling the tannins were a little too much when I tasted at the winery, but tonight I don’t feel the same. There is a nice tannin structure in place for drinking now, but in 3-5 years, I can only imagine how the tannins will calm down, giving it the maturity I cherish in a Pinot. Tonight, I get some nice spice on the nose and mid-palate. Good to drink now, but if you can put this one down. . . . . . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter. Link in the Bio!
