Tasting Notes
What a wonderful day of sunshine! I attempted to bask on the back deck to soak up some rays this afternoon, but the brisk chill in the air had me scurrying back indoors after a mere 30 minutes. It's as if the cold arrived unexpectedly, serving as a stark reminder that Thanksgiving and Christmas are swiftly approaching. I'm still mentally stuck in August, unprepared for the impending fall. Where has this year gone?
Did you know that today is National Champagne Day? Initially, I contemplated celebrating in a proper manner with a bottle of Champagne. However, when I stumbled upon a "Friendsgiving" event featuring six outstanding wineries during this Thanksgiving weekend, I couldn't resist uncorking a bottle of Corollary. The Oregon Sparkling wine scene is truly booming, and we're in the perfect locale to appreciate Sparkling Wine!
The 2018 Namaste Vineyard Sparkling from Corollary is nothing short of exceptional! Upon the initial pour, it seemed as though this wine was just as enthusiastic as I was, producing a delightful rush of bubbles that gracefully danced to the top of the glass. I particularly admire the blend of 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot, where the Pinot provides a supportive backbone without overshadowing the elegance of the Chardonnay. The mid-palate experience is truly remarkable, but what captivated me the most was the endlessly lingering finish. I can hardly think of a more delightful way to celebrate National Champagne Day on a brisk yet sunny Friday evening!
