Tasting Notes

The other night I opened up a 2018 Iron Filbert Pinot from Domaine Roy, and it instantly took me back to my first visit. I had just come from Shea and Winderlea. When I walked in the door at Domaine Roy Jake Olson, @_jake.olson and @nsyncwithfood, immediately kicked it out of the ballpark. I would have to look back at my notes to see what I tasted, but it was a killer tasting with a tour of the winery as well. I have only met Jake once, but some people leave such an everlasting impression you will never forget. Tasting the 2018 Iron Filbert was so enjoyable. I still have several bottles, and I refuse to touch them. It feels like 90% of my wine I shouldn’t be touching. Anyway, there was a teeny bit of funk on this one mid-palate, but still very enjoyable. I am glad Jake twisted my arm to purchase a few bottles! . . . . 🍷
