Tasting Notes
Do you remember what the inside of a restaurant smells like? Earlier today, I was craving lasagna, something I normally have after an 80+ mile bike ride. No bike ride happened today, but there was lasagna consumed. When I walked in the front door to grab my take-out order, herbs, spices, and bacon was wafting through the air, penetrating my mask and tantalizing my nose. Oh, to be in a restaurant once again. Oh, how I miss thee!
I couldn’t pass up the sale on their bottles of wine at 50% off. I hadn’t had a Cab, Syrah blend before, so for $17, I figured why not. This 2017 Columbia Valley Blend is 60% Cab and 40% Syrah, and oh my, the Syrah has put the Cab in its place. I held my breath on the first sip expecting an explosion of tannin pucker face. Surprisingly smooth and delightful.
Oh, the lasagna was spectacular and hit the spot. Now, what about that bike ride.....
