Tasting Notes

Where in the world did this rain come from? I thought we were officially kicking off Spring this week? I can’t mention the summer word until July 5th. I should be enjoying this glass of wine on my back deck instead of being inside with the windows closed. What does one do to overcome such dismay? Open a great bottle of wine, of course! The 2016 Tendril Tightrope called out to me earlier, and as the night advances, it is progressively getting better. Looking at the color of the wine in the glass, I already know I am in for a treat! Upon entry, the wine skillfully glides forward, allowing those deep dark red fruits to escape under the radar onto the mid-palate, where you start to appreciate what is occurring. Tightrope opens up to a full-blown 3-ring extravaganza of dark red fruit, slight hints of spice, and an integrated tannin structure cloaked in silk. On the finish, it is all about the encores. Just when you think it is over, there is another wave of those dark red fruits accompanied by spice, leaving you satisfied over and over again! . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter.
