Tasting Notes

Nothing says Valentine's more than a bit of snow in the morning, sun in the afternoon, and a bottle of Sparkling for the evening because relationships can go from "What in the world?" to smiles all around when the familiar sound of the cork leaving the bottle of Sparkling! Relationships and life is a journey, and I am asking you to join me on a three-day trek exploring one bottle of Oregon Sparkling. We know it isn't easy to figure out how a wine will age over time, but we can take some very well-educated conclusions by tasting it over multiple days. So please join me in witnessing where this bottle takes us in the coming days. Day 1 Tasting Notes for 2016 Lytle-Barnett Brut Rose A luscious pale salmon color in the glass with excited tiny bubbles all around! On entry, you are greeted with a slight tannic grippiness you come to appreciate from a Rose of Pinot Noir. The mid-palate brings you killer acidity and a flavor profile to this Valentine's party, where you can encounter how the 35% Chardonnay in the bottle tones down the remaining 65% Pinot allowing you to enjoy a complex fruity profile. Oh, the finish, this is where your mid-palate continues to encounter all of those cheerful bubbles along with a prolonged lingering of that fruit profile sticking around screaming to be paired with some brie and strawberries, kicking off this Valentine's teaser only to bring the delightment level up a few notches with a delicious grilled salmon for the main course. 👇 👇 👇 👇 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 Massive shoutout to Lytle-Barnett for sponsoring the podcast this week!
