Tasting Notes

Today was finally one of those days where I could breathe, relax and allow the day to flow a little. I hope today was like that for you as well. Removing the stopper from the bottle today made an excellent loud boom sound letting me know there was a party waiting for me to partake in! Looking in the glass, a steady stream of bubbles is quite apparent. After taking a sniffy and a first sip, I don’t think I can tell any difference between day 2 and day 3. The 2016 Lytle-Barnett Brut Rose is holding firm on so many levels! The Rose of Pinot Noir, part of this bottle, is showing strongly on entry, mid-palate, and giving it that lengthy finish we expect. The Chardonnay comes to the party with great acidity and balance, ensuring the Pinot Noir doesn’t tip the scales too far in one direction. At this point, I am curious about how many days this bottle will go. After three days, I feel this bottle could easily sit in the cellar for another ten years without any issues. Can you imagine buying some Lytle-Barnett today and surprising the heck of multiple people in 2033 with a 2016 bottle? I am pretty sure some people are going to lose their gourd! A 17-year-old Oregon Sparkling for the win in 2033 sounds stunning to me! 👇 👇 👇 👇 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 Massive shoutout to Lytle-Barnett for sponsoring the podcast this week!
