Tasting Notes
When the day flies by faster than Road Runner on a hot summer day in the middle of the desert, you know it’s been a good day! Spending the afternoon getting bikes ready for the upcoming riding season was great! I also sipped some of the 2015 Lytle Barnett Vintage Willamette Valley Brut Sparkling while changing bike tires. If you had told me 20 years ago I would be sipping on Sparkling while changing bike tires on a Saturday afternoon, I would have said you were crazy!
Anyway, I adore this bottle even more than yesterday. There is still a killer concentration of bubbles in the glass. What I am enjoying the most from this on Day 2 is how the Pinot Noir has calmed down a little allowing for a silkier and smooth entry for the mid-palate, where the acidity takes over in the most pleasant of manners. The finish is still roaring for an encore, but sadly there are no more encores. Unfortunately, I wasn’t paying the best of attention, and now the bottle is gone. I seriously cannot wait to see where these Oregon Sparkling wines are in 15 years!
