Tasting Notes
So many wineries hold special memories for me. I will never forget my first visit to Dusky Goose, the empty Dusky Goose bottle I placed in my wine cellar's wall, or the great interview with winemaker Hans Van Dale earlier this year. All of the stories at Dusky Goose, along with the wines, keep me coming back for more!
2014 Rambouillet Vineyard Pinot Noir
There is lovely fruit on the nose, displaying an outstanding balance of dark and bright red fruit. Exceptional silky entry sliding across the mid-palate with a silent grace. The silence translates into a language I can only try to verbalize. Imagine being at the coast. It is pouring down rain, the door overlooking the ocean is open, and the cold salty air fills the room with a fire roaring in the background. When sipping this wine, the dark and red fruit intertwines, similar to the cold salty air and the roaring fire, while you are sitting there marveling at the ocean and reflecting.
