Tasting Notes

Holy Toledo Batman, I am soaking up all the sun this week! I need a solid eight more weeks before I am willing to let summer go. How are you soaking up the sun? I have three more bottles of the 2014 Fennwood Vineyard Pinot Noir from Alexana, along with some 2019s. To give a blanket statement and say the Fennwood is my favorite Pinot from Alexana is challenging to say, but dang it, I am going to make it so! My adoration for this bottle starts with the memory of Shane coming out to pour this wine during a tasting. It was gorgeous then, and it’s still showing wonderfully! I also like to do a deep dive to find uncommon bottles. In the glass, it’s a bit dark, followed by dark fruit on the nose. Entry gives you slow, elegant finesse for the mid-palate to take in everything you could possibly want for a Tuesday night wine while working on the back deck with a breeze and soaking up the sun. Speaking of the mid-palate, the structure is firmly in place with killer acidity accompanied by the slightest of tannins. If you are looking for a finish to satisfy any craving, you couldn’t ask for a longer finish full of those dark fruits and tingling spices. 👇 👇 👇 👇 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 Would you like to get a Saturday morning email to read with your coffee giving you insider tips on events, news, and an in-depth perspective on a winery?
