Tasting Notes
Today is a special day being 2-2-22! I have family members born on 5-5-55 and 8-8-88. Days like this don’t come around often. So how does one celebrate a day like this? Why not open a bottle from the Fennwood vineyard?
The 2014 Alexana Fennwood Vineyard Pinot Noir is my favorite Pinot from Alexana. I can’t thank Shane enough for introducing this bottle to me. I adored pouring this into my glass, seeing slight signs of tawny on the rim. Getting subtle earth tones on the nose sent shivers up and down my spine. I immediately came across bright red fruit transitioning into darker red fruit mid-palate. What got me was a highly acidic finish. So happy I have several bottles of this to explore in the years to come!
