Tasting Notes
Tonight felt like a great night to open my 2009 Hans Clone Pommard from Vidon, especially since I am featuring them in the newsletter tomorrow. I wonder what I dive into? Well, to spoil things the teeniest little bit, I talk food, a tad bit of snow, and an anniversary. There are other juicy nuggets I mention, but I can’t spoil everything for you. Sign up for the newsletter if you haven’t already, and "Read all about it!"
The 2009 Hans Clone Pommard is showing wonderfully! There is still so much color for an almost 12-year-old (I want to say 12 years, but it’s March) wine. On the edges, the color is showing bits of tawny, but the body is still a strong deep red. The acidity is strong as well. On the palate, there is some spice, with some slight tannins. The finish lingers ever so gallantly. The bottle is going up on my shelf of bottles. Don signed it, and it will be something I treasure for quite some time.
